Upon successful completion of the first year of intensive theoretical and practical studies, two separate segments are offered:
The second segment of the doctoral program concludes with the successful completion of the doctoral examination (doctoral thesis and thesis defense).
The second segment of the Master's program concludes with the successful completion of the Master's thesis, based on experimental research.
Members of the MSc/PhD/MD-PhD Neuroscience Program closely cooperate with other PhD programs of the Göttingen Graduate School of Neurosciences, Biophysics, and Molecular Biosciences (GGNB) and a number of other interdisciplinary doctoral programs, collaborative research centers (Sonderforschungsbereiche, SFB) and recently founded science centers in Göttingen (see participating institutions for details). In addition to the courses offered by the Neuroscience Program itself, a variety of seminars and courses in the collaborating programs and centers are open to the Neuroscience doctoral students.
